Everything you need to get started with sourdough
Levra™ is a complete set for anyone who wants to bake sourdough bread at home. Your starter lives in a tall jar with an ml scale, and a band around the jar marks how high it was when you fed it. That makes it easy to see when it has risen and is ready.
For the bread itself, you get a proofing basket with a cloth liner, a dough whisk, a lame and a dough scraper.
What you get, all in one package
The set comes in one version only. Everything shown in the “What you get” images is included.
For the starter
- 1 glass jar, 900 ml with ml scale
- 1 wooden lid
- 2 fabric covers
- 2 bands
- 1 thermometer strip (18–34 °C)
- 1 silicone spatula
- 1 set of 5 measuring spoons
- 2 sheets of labels
- 1 chalk marker
For the bread
- 1 oval proofing basket, 25 cm, with cloth liner
- 1 stainless steel dough whisk with wooden handle
- 1 lame (bread scoring knife) with 5 spare blades
- 1 blade guard for the lame
- 1 dough scraper
Sourdough starter and flour are not included.

The jar that shows when the starter is ready
Feed the starter, stir well with the spatula and place the band around the jar level with the starter. Write the date and time on a label with the chalk marker, then put on the fabric cover. It lets air in while keeping dust and flies out.
The thermometer strip attaches to the outside of the jar and shows whether the starter is warm enough. Most sourdough starters do well at around 24 to 27 °C. Once the starter has risen well above the band, you can start baking.

From dough to bread
The dough whisk mixes flour and water quickly without the dough clumping around it. Let the dough proof in the basket with the cloth liner in place, turn it out onto baking paper and score it with the lame just before the bread goes into the oven. Use the dough scraper to shape the dough and clean the bench afterwards.
